Audit company (Data Automation)

Overview

An audit company was digitizing auditing by automating using data analytics solutions. Due to the nature of the work, the auditors were surrounded by huge pile of data most of the times causing the solution delivery to clients, thereby, affecting the cost to company.

Challenge

Extracting dataset was a major issue as the auditors dealt with various sources – SAP, NetSuite, CSV, Excel, PDF, Txt, doc, ppt etc. The issue was the storage of this data and generating insights plus automate the who process of it. The major issue at the moment was to extract the data.

Implementation

The data analyst extracted the data manually for one last time from all the sources to identify the structure of it. Using Alteryx, a macro was created which could extract data from any source which includes flat files, a second connector was created to extract the data from sources like SAP, NetSuite depending on the extension. This helped in automating the first part of the workflow.
